On October 8 at 9pm Channel 4 broadcast Alex: A Passion For Life (watch online here), the sequel to the award-winning A Boy Called Alex, about the Eton musical scholar and cystic fibrosis sufferer Alex Stobbs. In this latest film, Alex faces the biggest musical challenge of his life: to conduct Bach's epic St Matthew Passion with a professional orchestra and some of Britain's top soloists. Along the way we catch up with his hectic life as a first year student at Cambridge University and his struggle to cope with cystic fibrosis, an incurable disease that is gradually destroying his lungs.

Also on 8 October, at 10pm on More4, don't miss the chance to see the concert itself in A Boy Called Alex: The Concert (watch online here). Watch highlights of the remarkable performance, conducted by Alex himself, with the Rodolfus Choir, Southbank Sinfonia and a world-class collection of soloists.
